Alternative Gadgets to Air Conditioning

You have probably read our blogs on the air conditioned trousers and the air conditioned suit that is encrusted with diamonds; we have found a few more weird and wonderful inventions to keep you cool during the summer months! Although, if you are looking to maintain your street cred, these products are not advisable.

There is nothing better than coming home after a day at work and taking your shoes and socks off. Well now you can have this feeling all day long by investing in an air conditioned pair of shoes. They are made of leather and have vents in the soles of the shoes, however, the only worry is will these vents suck up dirt from the pavement? If so, you might end up with cool feet but look like you have been walking through a dirt track with no shoes on!

Now, next on the list is a suit that isn’t as great as the diamond encrusted suit that was previously mentioned but it also doesn’t have the same price tag! This is a suit with built in ice pockets. To be honest, you could probably recreate this yourself by just picking up an ice pack and putting it in the inside pocket of your jacket. Although we are unsure what you will do when it starts to heat up and the ice on the outside of the packet starts to melt…

You could always go one step further with the ice cube vest! Apparently they are used by athletes who are trying to improve their stamina. Well, in all fairness this might be true but I am certain that no matter how hot it is, there is no way you will be happy to place a vest full of ice cubes onto your body.

We have all seen the hats with the umbrellas on top, and you can purchase a hat with a fan in the front of the peak. Better yet, it is solar powered so when it is sunny the fan automatically starts turning. The only downfall to this hat is that they have had to cut a hole in the peak to fit the fan in. So this defeats the purpose the of the peak right?

Lastly in our discovery of eccentric inventions is the fan that fits between your collar and your tie. I am not entirely sure how this would work because the fan appears to be facing outwards, therefore cooling the air around you rather than your body. Also it isn’t a discrete little thing. There will have to be a gap between the fan and your tie so you will definitely be able to see the little fan.

We think that it is best that you stick to putting the air conditioning on!
