There are some shocking figures around at the moment, showing that there are very few air conditioning units that have been inspected by a professional. Whilst this may not seem like such a catastrophe, it really is important that you have your unit serviced and maintained regularly. After all, you are the ones breathing in the air that it is putting out.

If you had your unit installed during or after January 2008 then you are overdue for an inspection, and it could mean that you are also breaching the European Energy Performance of Buildings Directive. However, there is a larger issue in all this, which is does anyone take air conditioning seriously?

Being in the industry it is clear that we and everyone else operating in it do but what about those who don’t? Whilst the latest model of air conditioning unit or advancement in technology gets us just as excited as Christmas, this doesn’t seem to be the case for the rest of the population. However, the next time a new smart phone is launched we are pretty certain that you will at least know about it and probably go out and purchase it. Ok, so we do except that for the rest of the UK, air conditioning innovation just isn’t as fascinating as being able to video in slow motion however it is essential that you are at least aware so your units are running safely and efficiently.

Even more so, it is important to have your units serviced since the Government is pushing for greener ways of living. There have been some remarkable innovations over the last decade including reducing carbon emissions, reducing costs and ensuring units are reliable, which really are worth talking about.

The more chat there is around air conditioning the better, then consumers will realise the importance of having the units maintained and serviced by professionals. There are jobs that can be done yourself, however it is essential to know that the air being produced is clean, and that your unit is running efficiently in terms of both carbon emissions and the pennies being spent.
