Airedale International Air Conditioning has launched a brand new range of cooling system which will work using chilled water. They are claiming that this range will outperform their other products in terms of energy efficiency and their carbon footprint as well as in its cooling capacity.

The range comes with capacities from 11 to 233kW and they have been designed and created with the internal heat exchange area at the core of the planning in order to make sure this is maximised. There are other energy efficient improvements that have been made to the SmartCool SD, SN and SR range according to Airedale International.

The SmartCool SD has been given a larger coil area than before and on top of this is has also been given an improved airflow path. Filters have been placed on the face of the coil which provides an extra 15 per cent more surface area for better air flow as low air side pressure drops as a result which then increases the efficiency of the unit as it lowers the power of the fan. On top of this in the SmartCool SD model the energy efficiency has also been increased as the fans are now situated in the floor void.

The SN and SR models of the SmartCool have been designed and created using the very innovative V-frame heat exchangers. This also improves the air flow through the unit itself and also reduces the pressure. As a result these units are market leading when it comes to energy efficiency.

In other news in the industry Daikin Industries celebrated forty years in Europe last month providing air conditioning. They first opened their doors in 1973 in Ostend which is where their headquarters are. From here they serve the European market as well as Africa and the Middle East.

Daikin have said that their headquarters are now an important hub for research and development, and creating innovation. Due to this, Daikin have been able to respond quickly to market changes and demands which aid the competitiveness of the company. Daikin in total have around 1,600 employees in Belgium, 1,500 of which are working in Ostend and the other 100 are working in Brussels. The entire production facility is situated on 150,000 square metres and the main focus here is on creating innovations with heating and cooling for residential, commercial and industrial purposes. There are other production centres other than in Ostend and are situated in Italy, Czech Republic, Germany, Turkey and in the UK. Across the whole Daikin Group there are around 5,400 employees which helped generate the €1.85 billion in turnover they had in 2012.
