Friedrich was founded in 1883 and they are based in San Antonio. They have been manufacturing air conditioning units since 1952 and they are still the only business to manufacture these units in North America.

Over the last few years there has been an increase in popularity of ductless spilt systems (DSS) in America. This is because it is a great way to cool sunrooms and extensions without the need of installing a central system which could be costly and time consuming.

The USA saw a 12% growth rate over the last five years of these units which is pretty astonishing. Those in the industry and certain consumer groups believe that the installed costs of the unit, the unit and the installation fee, is actually causing a barrier to people accepting the technology in America. Friedrich wants to change this and are doing so by adding a more cost effective solution through its Breeze units to the market.

Wink Chapman is the vice president of sales and marketing at Friedrich and he has said, “We chose Florida to launch this retail push as the Sunshine State and the Southeast U.S have been a leading marketing for DSS and spilt ait conditioner technology. We think Breeze offers consumers another reputation for quality room air systems. The Breeze product line can satisfy those customers who can’t afford central air but want an alternative to a standard window unit.”

Friedrich have been manufacturing air conditioning units for over 60 years so have a lot of experience in the industry. They are increasing how available this product is by joining up with other retailers across the East Coast in order to make sure they have tapped in to all the possible markets. They also provide commercial air conditioning units which can be found everywhere from oil rigs in Texas to New York apartments, so they are very popular which is probably due to the fact that they are the only manufacturer in North America as previously mentioned. On top of this they also offer a wireless system that is run through wifi.

Many people in America find that cooling their home extensions is often a difficult so the Breeze is a great alternative. They can even be installed by the homeowner with the help of tutorials provided by Friedrich which will save some money.
